Honeymoon Diary, Day 1

26 Nov

Welcome to my Honeymoon Diary, hope you enjoy it.

After a 12 hour flight we arrived in Cape Town, a little exhausted (hubby was way to tall for this tiny economy seats) but happy in our first Guesthouse, the beautiful Cape Standard in Greenpoint. We felt cosy and at home from the first moment, the relaxed Beach House atmosphere transformed us into a chill out mode directly. Absolutely awesome.

James, a member of the lovely staff there, served us a wonderful breakfast which filled up our energy tanks. Heaven!

After a little nap we started of with the Must See in Cape Town, the V&A Waterfront. It is very touristc, but it was the right place to start off for the first day.

What a view

Here we also met this cute guy

After that we headed to wonderful Camps Bay (became our favorite place in Cape Town), to the beach.

With a view over the Twelve Apostles – breathtaking.

And the light, oh the afternoon light…

Cape Town really made it easy for us to arrive and feel comfortable from the start.

Up and away

Hello to you all,

I am sooo excited, cause tomorrow our Honeymoon starts finally.

I never ever been so far away, it is actually a 12 hour (!!!) flight, what is a really long time.

But I made arrangements, that hubby and I will have a cosy time on the plane.

Here is what I am taking for our comfortness:

super soft and cosy socks for a homely feeling

A nice cotton neck pillow & sleeping mask

A soft blanket to cuddle

My Ipod loaded with our favorite music and tv series

I hope this will help to pass the time a bit.

And if that doesn’t help, we just have to think about our wonderful destination South Africa.

I know that it will be amazing and I will come back with tons of new happy places to share.

Till then take care and have a great time.

xoxo

A warm Hello to you all. I hope, you had a lovely week.

Today I have something very special to show you, because we finally got our Wedding Pictures this week.

What can I say? They are absolutely amazing and we are so thankful, that we discovered Cathrin and Manuel from pure-wedding, for they are so talented and  amazing people, as well.

I will soon post our wedding story with some lovely images, but for now, here is a little Sneak Peak from our whimsical Photo Booth Session. I love how my man looks with the mustache. So cute!

Early plans for the first wedding anniversary

2 Okt

I want to share with you some awesome pictures of lovely Jaqueline Midkiff from Jaqueline Ashley Events and her husband Jake, that I discovered on her blog. Jaqueline and Jake were married two years ago and for they never got to their Engagement Shooting, so they decided to do an anniversary shooting with Blue Lily Photography. I absolutely love the idea, because Simon and I never had time for an Engagement Shooting before our Big Day, which I felt really sorry for. But this inspired me that we will totally catch up on it on our first anniversary.

I also love this picnic idea. Look at this colorful blanket, makes me happy!

Thank you Jaqueline for this great inspiration and wonderful pictures to share. You both look stunning and so happy. And this after being together for 10 years, that is so valuable! See more of this wonderful shooting at The Wedding Chicks and check out Blue Lily Photography for more amazing shoots. And for more of Jaqueline, stop by at her lovely blog.

Our etsy wedding memories

7 Sep

Dear readers,

I posted a lot about our wedding planning in the past and about the lovely inspirations and finds you can make over the web.

For me etsy was a thing I had never heared of before I began to do my wedding research (I know that is ridiculous, but in Germany it is not that popular), but I am very grateful I discovered it.

And we got two lovely memories for our wedding out of it.

First this lovely ring bearer from paloma’s nest, which will become a decoration for our christmas tree in the future.

And this wedding tree from lovliday, where all our guests left their thumb print as leafs. It is already hanging in our living room. I love it!!!

So if you plan your wedding, I can only recommend to search for great vendors and artists who enrich your day and and create something you can always remember your wonderful day by.

xoxo

Hello from the Mrs.

31 Aug

My dear Readers,

here I am again after the two most eventful weeks in my life, and the most wonderful :-)

A lot of things have changed: I am a Mrs. now, I have a new Last Name (which I really have to get used to, I am still answering the phone with my old Name most of the time) and I am wearing a pretty little ring on my finger.

Yes, I am now married to my best friend and the most loving and amazing person. I am such a lucky girl to have found this man and even more to be his wife now. It feels amazing!

I have so many things and details to tell you about the wedding, which I will one at a time. But for now let me say that our wedding day was, without a doubt, the most beautiful day of our lifes. Everything was perfect, even the very bad rainy August weather (the most humid August since 50 years I think) had mercy with us and was so sunny and awesome. We are so thankful for this celebration of love we experienced.

Can’t wait to show the pics of our photographers. Till then here is a little sneak peak, a picture of us taken by a friend of us, it is my favorite one so far.

It makes me sigh every time…

Our Wedding Location

15 Aug

My Dears,

I hope, you had a wonderful weekend so far. We are couting the days now to our wedding. In one week at this time we will already be hubby and wife, amazing!

We went to our location again yesterday to check the last things and we made some pics I wanted to show you. I hope you like them.

This is the house, an old manor, lovely modernized.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the sun will show up on Saturday, forecast looks quite good so far.

Have a great Sunday.

xoxo

8 days

12 Aug

…till our big day. Time is running, people.

There is almost everything done on my To Do List. Can you believe that?

Tomorrow we will already drop off some things at the mother of my fiancé. She lives near our location and I have a better feeling when most of the things we need are already there and can’t be forgotten by us anymore.

On Saturday we have the last appointment with our florist and the guys from the location.

On Monday I pick up my dress FINALLY and store it at my maid of honors house.

On Tuesday I pick up the Menu Cards, which will look awesome, the designer already emailed them to me today.

And after that there are three more days of relaxing time with pedicures, manicures and all the things, that make girls happy.

On Friday next week we already get official at the Court House where we have to sign our wedding papers, but the real part will follow on Saturday with our ceremony and reception. I am so looking forward to it and already wondering how everything will turn out what we have planned for over a year now. Never felt more excited in my whole life.

The night before the ceremony I have already booked a hotel for my two Maid of Honors and me and I think it will be great to spend this evening with my girls and just chatter Sex and the City – like.

So, countdown begins tomorrow. Woohoo!!!!

xoxo

Our Weddingbands

8 Aug

I picked up our rings. I love them.

The engraving is our own handwriting, a detail which we find awesome.

On the pic it looks as if the edges are golden but they aren’t, they are silver all over.

Can’t wait to wear mine.

So what did you guys do with your engagement ring after the wedding? I will wear mine on the left hand, because in Germany traditionally we wear the wedding ring on the right.

Enjoy your Sunday!

A quick Update from a busy Bride-to-be

4 Aug

Hello my Dears,

here a quick post, so you won’t forget me :)

Just made a Final List for the Wedding.

That Wedding Stuff we have to accomplish this week:

Pick up the wedding rings

Order the Wine and other Beverages

Get Silly Stuff for the Photo Booth

Create a Background for the Photo Booth

Get a lot of colorful lemonade bottles for vases

Get some more deco stuff (Lanterns, bins for bread, olive oil, salt)

Rent a tent, benches & sound equipment for the ceremony

Last appointment with Torsten, our officiant

Last fitting for the wedding dress

Getting a suit for the groom

So you see, it is not getting boring at our place at the moment.

See you later. xoxo
